I’m obsessed with context clues. My students utterly dislike them – well, they dislike anything vocabulary. hahahaha My EFLs are so used to translating everything they set their eyes on and it really gets me. Translation ends up becoming such a huge problem for these kids! It’s systematic. I need them to let go and start listening to what they’re being told or reading! Most of the information they need is there! Context clues are what help them solve the issues caused by (their) translations.
Thank you.

My class had a lot of fun working with this. They always love a word search, but the fill in the blank activity was challenging. We reviewed it as a class and it was fun to explain why one word worked better than another.

We are using this for afterschool tutoring and some for homework.

This was a great early finisher activity for my students to do before Thanksgiving break. They really enjoyed it. Looking forward to using the rest of the season activities.
