My students enjoyed this activity. They were very excited to be able to provide some words of wisdom for the upcoming class.

The students were engaged the entire time while completing the brochures. This year I had a lot of students that disliked writing. I like how there was a balance of short answers and sections that required short paragraphs, which helped those that disliked writing stay encouraged and engaged. We worked through each section together (brainstorming ideas, words they may use, topic sentences). Students that finished a section early were happy to color the pictures while they waited for others.
