I enjoy using these with my 4th grade reading intervention students. I am working with them on their comprehension skills and one of their goals is to be able to develop their understanding of characters in stories. We have been working on discussing character traits with these quick read passages. I appreciate the answer key included. I do wish that some of the stories were “people” characters rather than a butterfly and a bunny. We discuss outside character traits (physical) and inside character traits (more about personality) and it is easier to relate to humans and how they looks, think, and feel. I love the traits used within theses passages – grateful, honest, hard working / accomplished, etc. We are expanding vocabulary through the discussion of these character trait passages. Thank you!
