This is a fun way to give students choice.
The Avid Teacher –
I’ve been looking for something to help my students with their stop and jots while reading independently. We started using the choice board this week and it has gone splendidly! I cut the choice boards to fit in their notebooks and the students stapled them in. They make a tally mark in each choice they use to track how often they are using each choice and to encourage themselves to use all the choices! The rubric is great because it helps the students see our independent reading time as an academic activity.
