Mrs. Morrison Teach –
The Daily Quick Writes: Picture Writing Prompts resource has been a fantastic addition to my 2nd grade writing routine. The picture prompts are engaging, thought-provoking, and spark so much creativity in my students. It’s amazing how a single image can inspire such rich narrative, opinion, and descriptive writing.
I love using these prompts as morning work or a warm-up before our writing block. They’re low-prep and easy to implement, but the results are meaningful. My students have become more confident writers and are beginning to expand their ideas with more detail and voice.
There’s a great mix of genres included, which helps keep things fresh and gives students regular practice with different types of writing. This resource has truly helped me build a consistent and purposeful writing routine in my classroom.
Highly recommend for any teacher looking to inspire student writers and make writing a daily habit!

I used these over the summer with my own kids at home. I won’t say they all of a sudden loved doing schoolwork over the summer, but this had a great variety of prompts so they could choose something they actually wanted to write about.
